Calling all
SEO Managers

Role — SEO Manager (Contract)
Location — Remote (UK/EU time zones)
Type — Part‑time contract (3 days/week)

About the role

We’re looking for an SEO Manager to support our retained clients and project builds. You’ll lead the SEO across ongoing site improvements and act as the SEO point‑person on all projects shaping upfront strategy, planning information architecture, and managing migrations and implementation through to launch. You should be hands‑on (able to run audits and make on‑page fixes) and comfortable collaborating with PMs, designers and developers to get changes shipped.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the SEO backlog for retainers: identify challenges and opportunities to deliver high‑impact technical and on‑page tasks.
  • Run technical health checks (crawls, indexation, Core Web Vitals, internal linking, canonicals, 404/redirects) and specify fixes.
  • Lead on‑page optimisation: research opportunities, produce/optimise briefs, metadata, headings, copy and internal links.
  • Specify structured data for our dev team to unlock rich results (e.g., LocalBusiness, Product, Article, FAQ, Breadcrumb).
  • Shape upfront SEO for new builds: keyword/intent research to inform IA, templates and component‑level SEO requirements.
  • Plan and manage migrations: URL inventory, redirect mapping, pre‑launch QA, launch checks and post‑launch monitoring.
  • Report succinctly: monthly updates with insights and next actions; contribute to quarterly strategy reviews.
  • Ensure measurement foundations: GA4 + GSC in place (via GTM), dashboards maintained, and issues flagged early.
  • Presenting strategies and reports to clients as well as helping to explain SEO challenges in a clear manner.

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years’ hands‑on SEO (agency or mixed), with proven migration experience and measurable results.
  • Strong technical SEO and on‑page skills; confident with Sitebulb/Screaming Frog, GSC, GA4 (Looker Studio), and SEMrush.
  • Comfortable across Shopify and WordPress; familiarity with headless/Next.js and performance/CDN basics.
  • Understanding of Core Web Vitals and practical page‑speed levers (images, JS, fonts, third‑party governance).
  • Clear communicator who can translate SEO internally as well as deliver client‑friendly updates.
  • Organised and proactive: able to run a backlog within a 3‑days/week rhythm and hit deadlines.

Tools we use

  • SEMrush
  • Sitebulb
  • Google Search Console
  • GA4 (Looker Studio)
  • Microsoft Clarity
  • PageSpeed Insights/Lighthouse
  • Google Tag Manager
